Spanish Examinations and Diplomas: DIE and DELE
You can take the examination for the Diploma Internacional de Español (DIE) at CELA Spanish Language School at the end of your Spanish course on Margarita Island.
The DIE is offered in 10 levels of proficiency from beginner through to advanced. It is valid internationally and is issued by Fidescu (Foundation for the Development of and Research into Spanish Culture) and the Universidad Pontificia de Salamanca/Spain. There are also examinations for tourism, law, business, medicine and Spanish teachers.
In general, a one week course at CELA Spanish School corresponds to one level of the DIE (excepting levels C1 and C2). You can also take the written version of this exam at our school.

Courses for the preparation of the DELE:
For students who would like to prepare for the DELE (Official Diploma in Spanish as a Foreign Language from the Spanish Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports, and the Universidad de Salamanca), CELA offers a special course with 25 lessons per week, group courses and 10 individual lessons, mostly in the afternoons.
General information about the DELE:
DELE (Diploma de Español como Lengua Extranjera) is an official exam for Spanish as a foreign language of the Spanish Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports, the Universidad de Salamanca and the Instituto Cervantes.
The exam can be taken twice a year in 59 countries worldwide and in 215 cities in Spain, normally in two sessions, in May and November. It is not offered in Venezuela, so you have to take it in your country of residence.
The exam is offered in 3 levels:
Diploma Inicial
Diploma Básico
Diploma Superior
Requirements:
To sit the DELE examination, you must fulfill the following requirements:
- Be a citizen of a country where Spanish is not an official language.
- To take the superior diploma you must be over 16 years old.
- Registration and payment must take place at the corresponding centre in your country of residence.
- After completion of registration and payment, you will receive notification of the date and time of your exam.
